Fred Bova is an accomplished guitarist, singer & song writer who in the 1960’s spent countless hours at Trod Nossel studio and practicing on the second floor of the barn out back. He has come home from California and now plays local gigs.
Fred met up with the Cavalier kids at the first auction when he picked up a piece from his earlier chapters. Fred offered his guidance and he has spent the last several weeks in the studio. Doc’s youngest son Rob, brought in a black and white photo that had been taken when he was just a kid. The photo was a band practicing in the barn, Fred pointed to one of the guys in the photo and said “that’s me. “
Fred began filling in the missing pieces. He gives the details of why a part is important or how a component is wired, patiently with a tune of enthusiasm. The Cavalier kids were over whelmed with gratitude for the assistance in testing, adjusting and assessing. He felt the gift was his, he had returned to his home studio that he knew like the back of his hand, flooded with memories of a life long jam session. He hummed as he tinkered and tweaked.
Videos of the machines working conditions are now available for the bidders from Fred’s expertise; he was “Director of Technical Services” A&M Studios, The Village Recorder, and EastWest Studios. Rehearsed in putting on a show, his advice rings throughout Part Two and if you are local you surely should catch him playing out. His essence is musical.
What’s next for the studio???…
You!!
The new owner of the building intends for the studio to “Rock On.” Silver City Properties will be renting out the studio and sound room to musicians, bands, choirs and groups who are in need of recording. Available for an affordable weekend rate, groups can gather to set up and record. If interested in more information contact Nic at (203) 237-5397.
