We are excited to present this online auction filled with antique and vintage treasures from the Elpstone manor property in New Hartford CT. This beautiful home was built by America’s first “Prima Donna” Clara Kellog. ...view more She performed in opera houses around the world and her success was a matter of national pride in the United States, showing that American woman could rise up to the talent of other parts of the world. She would summer in this home and lived in Italy for the remainder of the year. She named this property Elpstone manor because of the large boulder on the property that looks like an elephant. There’s a gorgeous Japanese maple out front that was gifted to her by the Japanese emperor.
This wonderful family, who has had the pleasure of residing here and enjoying the property Clara built, sets off to their fully furnished cabin in the Catskills. They are parting with many beloved items that simply do not fit in their new space. There is a nice mix with many antique and vintage furniture pieces, beautiful artwork including many original oil paintings, unique primitive pieces, rustic decor, collectibles, brass & copper figurines, lots of cast iron, lamps, rugs and much more.
