Their goal is ...view moreto ensure that children experiencing the trauma of homelessness have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday joyfully, surrounded by family, friends and others who care. While in-person parties have been on-hold during the pandemic, Birthday Wishes has continued to deliver birthday celebrations through their Birthday-in-a-Box program. Each month Birthday Wishes distributes 300-400 Birthday-in-a-Box celebrations to children in shelters which include party decorations and supplies, cake mix and frosting and three birthday gifts for the birthday child. Founded in 2002 with a birthday party organized at one shelter, Birthday Wishes now serves more than 200 family shelters and transitional living facilities across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Long Island, NY.
