1. Antique card catalogue cabinet
2. Super rare to find a paper file cabinet for the bottom section and then a card catalogue on top.
2. Interior of the catalogue drawers is oak. Dividers are also wood which suggests that this is quiet old. Newer mid century models have metal interiors.
3.Comes apart in sections (easy to transport).

About Rockwell
For your consideration is this very nice quarter-sawn oak filing cabinet, made by Rockwell-Wabash Co., Chicago, Illinois, circa 1904. The piece features solid wood construction with 9 file-sized drawers and five catalogue drawers. Top section has original hardware bottom section has new screws but not sure if that hardware is original to early 1900s. regardless looks very good.

In a 1904 advertisement in the journal, "System, The Magazine of Business", Rockwell-Wabash touts their "Vertical Filing Systems" with an image of a single four-drawer vertical file. The files were apparently designed to fit together to create custom-sized vertical filing systems. The unit for sale today appears to have been three such units fitted together and had possible been part of an even larger system. The cabinets are in good solid condition. One of my all time favorite pieces.
