Item Description

This is very interesting. It comes in a 4x6 frame with glass that isn’t very clear, we took the art work out of the frame to get a better look and it’s this vibrant brilliant oil on paper. When you flip it over you can see Mildreys sketch, perhaps her process in bringing her piece to life. Interesting because the paper isn’t cut straight, it’s as if she tore a piece of paper out and started sketching and then painted the front. We recommend finding a new frame with clearer glass. A great opportunity to see her original sketch work on backside. Signed upper left corner.

Mildrey Guillot was born in Havana, Cuba. In 1962 she moved to the United States. She spent several years in Madrid, Spain where she acquired and developed some of her techniques and themes. Her love for Madrid is present in some of her works.

Mildrey Guillot has devoted a good period of her life to art. To start a new painting means a great deal to her because the subjects that she chooses have to capture a specific mood, like love, happiness, sadness, etc. Then she’ll employ her unique palette to add an element of mystery or mysticism; even in her still lives she can obtain remarkable results.

She favors three kinds of media: charcoals, pastels, and oils (her preferred form of expression is oil-based for its versatility and overall vivacity).

On a day to day basis her themes & subjects vary drastically and are very much reflective of her mood.

Mrs. Guillot studied in Madrid and now exhibits in Spain, Paris, South America, Puerto Rico, The United States and Switzerland.
