Huntington Furniture Company Mahogany Dining Table, Top Needs Refinish

A Huntington Furniture Company Mahogany dining table with satin in lay border that has three 12 inch leaves making it 102 inches long at its longest option. As you can see in the photos, the top either needs to be refinished or could use a table cloth to cover the heat stains. When something hot is put on top of a table with finish, the wood pours open and the steam gets trapped under the finish. Sometimes you can try putting a cotton cloth over the stain and applying an iron over the cloth, which helps open the pours back up indirectly and release the steam. This technique was used here for some of the areas, but still needs work or a refinish. Another great idea for this table is to leave the bottom as is, as it’s so beautiful, and paint the top of the table instead of refinishing the wood. Lots of ideas!
