Henry S. Bullock was a veteran of the war of the rebellion, but his service was as a boy, first as drummer in the Twenty-Fourth New York Infantry and next as trumpeter in the twentieth New York Cavalry. Mr. Bullock was born in Plymouth, Michigan. Previous to the time he became an artist, he depended upon his ability as a musician for a living. A modest man, full of the finer feelings and honest and earnest in his endeavors, he fairly won his place. His best work was in the line of landscape painting and in this he was very successful.
