Malayer rugs are among the most prized Persian rugs. The entire process of rug making – including cleaning, washing and dyeing of the wool, and then weaving the rug – is done traditionally by village weavers who source the wool from local villages. This particular low pile rug was woven over 100 years ago and still holds a generous amount of color.
