Item Description

Chicago hosted the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, a world's fair commemorating the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World. Artists from the United States and 19 foreign countries exhibited at the Exposition. Published in 1893, D. Appleton and Company of New York assembled these works into a 10 section series limited to 1,000 copies. These are sections 6 and 9 of that series. Cover shows minor wear for age, with the exception of 2 water rings on section 9. Interior pages are in very good condition complete with tissue paper page dividers noting the artist for each individual piece.
