I asked Jim, the seller, if this copper bowl could be used to prepare food. The answer was, 'Yes.'
To my surprise it IS thick enough in which to prepare food. I can't tell you how many times I've been lied to when asking the same question of other auction houses where I paid for quality copper cooking implements only to receive junk. Kudos to Jim for knowing the difference on this and other items.
I also requested this gorgeous copper bowl be shipped and though its irregular size could have been a problem it was packed so well it didn't suffer a dent or scratch traveling across the country.
I trust this auction house and that trust is not easily given.
