Bidders had to walk down a long, steep snow covered driveway, park on an extremely narrow road, and stand outside in freezing temperatures until someone appeared to get us our items. We weren't even allowed to wait in garage to get out of the cold and the wind. I will never buy from these people again. On top of that, the woman was very rude.

Mrs. Genadio, the ONLY reason you had to walk down the driveway was because you refused to wait your turn in the line of cars that had come before you. We had to control traffic up and down the driveway due to it being a very long and windy drive with a small turnaround area at the house. First, you nearly ran over the person standing at the top of the drive directing traffic. Then when she finally managed to stop you and told you that there were people waiting, you became very abrasive with her and even made a remark about her age. You then proceeded to park your car on the street and walk down AGAIN CUTTING THE LINE. I was not at the pickup but was made well aware of you and your behavior long before the pickup even ended. Ma'am I grew up in Newtown and take an immense amount of pride in my town. I PRAY that you are not indicative of the type of person that resides there now. Do us both the favor and PLEASE never bid on our auctions again.

I've been happily using Auction Ninja for approximately 7 years. First snow storm of season and i asked sellers a couple of hours prior to Auction once the storm was firm if alternate pickup options available. Received response day after Auction close that none were available. Been in this situation 4 times prior in these last 4 years and other auctioneers promptly responded with options, responses prior to auction, or refunds. Highly disappointed with this auction experience. Could not pickup items and forfeited.

Mr. Ortiz, as I’m sure you’re aware since you’re 35 min away from the pickup, it is only raining. The auction details clearly state that the set date is the only day, it even elaborates “do not ask” for other time. We came nearly 2 hours fromrnCT for this pickup and everyone else has managed to make it here in the…light rain. Leaving feedback like this by 3pm shows me that this was less about customer service and more about you just didn’t want to come get your items. rnrn4:25PM Update: my view north and west up the Hudson (approx where you live) reveals to me that the sky is now CLEARING! Not raining here at all now

Zero stars. Beyond rude, terrible customer service, called me "A CHILD".

I've never felt inclined to leave a poor review but after this managers alarming behavior I figure customers should know what they'll be dealing with.
I drove 47 minutes during rush hour traffic in an extreme rain storm to pickup my items totaling ~$83. I've been a long time customer of CHES and have ALWAYS picked up my items over the years.

I was set to arrive a few mins before the 6p auction end but after getting stuck at the traffic light (right next to their parking lot) I arrived in their lot at 6:01 and to their door at 6:02. Erich spoke to me over the ring doorbell and said they had already left because "they assumed I wasn't coming" and was "already on the highway" so he couldn't come back tonight and that I would have to come back tomorrow. The highway is an 8 minute drive (minimum) from there so he clearly left before the auction end time.

I texted him today and kindly asked if he could please ship my small items instead. I wouldn't have asked this if the items were large and difficult to be shipped/ needed extreme care but it was simply costume jewelry that would fit in a small bag/box.

He immediately became defensive, then started berating me saying I "decided it was the opportunity to give him a hard time" and that "when someone gives you a gift, take it" and that "no good deed goes unpunished".
Not sure if he was taking out his pent up issues on me and adding subtext behind my messages but he clearly felt attacked and rather than acting like someone representing a business and seeing my messages for what they actually were rather than attacks, he stooped to name calling and told me I was "A CHILD" then proceeded to delete that message to try and save some ounce of decency, which was already long gone by this point, on his end.

He told me it didn't matter where HE was because I was still 2 minutes late yesterday and to forget about picking up my items now and would notify the office that my items have been forfeited and that I should've called if I was going to be 2 minutes late!

Most decent people would understand with the rain/ flooding/ rush hour traffic that customers may be showing up a couple minutes late or to call a long time customer to verify that they're coming if they don't want to wait until auction close rather than just assuming. Even if I had shown up at 6p or 2 minutes prior to that, he still wouldn't have been there!

Unfortunately I don't think I'll continue to support the CHES auction house if this is the standard at which they conduct business. I've had better customer service from disgruntled airline employees dealing with flight cancellations which is truly saying something 😂

Mrs. Martinez, I cannot begin to even imagine the world of entitlement you must live in but that said, I'll skip through this imaginary story you spun just to be spiteful. Bottom line is you were late for the pickup and didn't call. We left AFTER 6... albeit 6:01 because we don't live here and we wanted to go home to our families on a thursday night. You arrived at 6:04 in a heavy rain storm and unfortunately, I was not going to turn around and come back. I told you that you could come the next day and that I would be happy to let you still pickup. The next day, you were clearly just being lazy and didn't want to drive the 20 mins to get here and asked me to ship which, as I'm sure your aware (Because its on your invoice and was posted all over the auction) we do not do for a number of reasons... primarily because of difficult people like you; its just not worth the headache for us. We do not have packing materials or staff here to pack. I said to you that you could call the UPS Store and that they would pickup for you to which you persisted on "can't you just ship it". After the third "No", you are correct, I told you that you were acting childish. The subject was not up for debate at any time, yet you felt it was. You were incorrect. As I said when I left off with you, next time when someone gives you the gift of a second chance... just take it and don't act like a child. Thankfully you've been removed from the site now so we will not have to deal with your nonsense any longer nor will you be wasting our or our other bidders time any longer.
