While it would be ideal if you could create a social media account and have prospective customers flock to your profile, that’s rarely (if ever) the case. Building a loyal and engaged following takes time and dedication. The good news? We have some quick and easy tips to help you expand your reach and accelerate your growth on AuctionNinja.

Use #poweredbyauctionninja & tag @AuctionNinja

Be Brave - Try Video!

Social media users love video -- which means social media platforms love them, too. The result? Video content is given preference in news feeds which will help you reach new and existing audiences if you work it into your strategy.

Don’t think you’re cut out for the job or don’t know where to start? Simple and amateur is preferred! Some quick and simple ideas:

  • Behind the scenes video of an estate walkthrough
  • Video of auction prep like photographing items
  • Closeups or narrated shots of notable item(s) in upcoming or existing sales
  • Candid videos of your team members doing their jobs -- it takes a lot of work to run a business. People appreciate the grit behind the polish!

Don’t overthink it. We’d love to share your videos so post them and tag us, or send them to marketing@auctionninja.com.

Join the Conversation

One of the best ways to increase visibility is to leverage social media for what it’s intended for -- connection and conversation. Look for accounts and groups of people that are like-minded and join in with your point of view -- or simply acknowledge the efforts of others with some kind words. Here are some quick and actionable things you can do each day:

  • Find relevant hashtags to your business and follow them - comment and respond on posts that catch your attention, reply to others comments (in a non-promotional way). It’s an easy and authentic way to be seen by the right people.
  • Look to other accounts that have followings that align with your target audience and engage in a similar way. For example, search for accounts that are town/city-focused near you, and engage with the local community from your business account. Again - don’t self-promote. The idea is to be authentic, not pushy.

Consistency Matters

Use the same profile image across your social media platforms (but make sure they’re sized properly for the various platforms). You don’t need to use every platform out there. Simply pick a few and use them well.

  • Facebook profile picture: 170 X 170 pixels
  • Facebook cover photo: 828 X 465 pixels
  • Twitter profile photo: 400 X 400 pixels
  • Twitter header image: 1,500 X 500 pixels
  • LinkedIn profile photo: 400 X 400 pixels (minimum)
  • LinkedIn cover photo: 974 X 330 pixels
  • LinkedIn banner image: 646 X 220 pixels
  • Instagram profile picture: 110 X 110 pixels

Post content consistently. This keeps your social media pages fresh and updated. It also keeps your audience engaged.
