At AuctionNinja, we’re constantly inspired by the unique voices and visionary styles within our community—and few capture the beauty of curated living quite like Alexandra Voyatzakis, founder of Alekka.
This week, we are thrilled to welcome Alexandra as our latest guest curator in the AuctionNinja Guest Curation Series, where tastemakers and creatives share hand-selected favorites from current auctions.
With a background rooted in fashion, Alexandra has recently expanded her creative expression into the world of interiors—bringing with her the same sharp eye and dedication to aesthetics that defined her work in style. Her approach to design is deeply thoughtful, rooted in storytelling, history, and a belief that beauty is essential to living joyfully.
At the heart of Alekka is the philosophy that a home should be more than just a backdrop—it should be a living, evolving mood board. Through layering and collecting standout vintage and antique pieces, Alekka encourages a spirit of curiosity, individuality, and expressive design. Alexandra’s selections reflect a seamless blend of timelessness and function, celebrating the patina of age and the charm of storied objects.
“Truly beautiful spaces are integral to a joyful life,” Alexandra says—and it’s a sentiment we can’t help but echo.

What got you interested in secondhand, vintage, and antique items?
My affinity for the arts and history brought me here! The two combined create such beauty. I found myself enraptured with house museums, watching Antiques Roadshow on repeat, and visiting every flea market and antique store I could find. The thrill of the hunt, and the education! Discovering new treasures creates curiosity, and every time I find something new, I also learn something new.

What do you always find yourself bidding on?
Anything with animals! Horses, lambs, squirrels, and dogs always make me leap, but I’m an equal-opportunity animal lover. From artwork to transferware to embroidery, anything and everything. I found a stunning bird tapestry last week and practically tripped running over to it.

What’s your favorite AuctionNinja purchase?
A couple of summers ago I won a very limited edition 2001 oversized Spode Greek platter through a Southampton, NY auction. I’ve never seen one like it in person—and haven’t seen a trace of it since!
Favorite item ever purchased at an estate sale or auction?
Almost impossible to choose! But recently, a William Walworth Stilson landscape painting in the most striking frame. It’s lush, verdant, and visually so satisfying.
Any tips for newbies?
For online auctions, if you’re deliberating, heart [favorite] the item before placing a bid and keep an eye on it. You can always bid at the last minute! For estate sales, go with your gut. If you love it, grab it—because someone else will.
A painted piano, layered wall art, and a leafy potted tree give this corner its rich, collected charm. It’s the kind of vignette that invites music, storytelling, and a touch of old-world elegance. Photo by Jane Beiles Photography.
From a Spode platter with mythological flair to a moody animal portrait that could anchor a gallery wall, Alexandra’s curation proves just how personal—and powerful—secondhand shopping can be.
