This beautiful hardcover bound photographic essay on photographer Ron Galella's interactions with the Pop-Art era's most famous and most quirky artist, Andy Warhol. It is signed by Ron Galella, who also dedicated the inscription to Mike, and dated it April 2012 in silver marker.
It measures 12-7/8 inches tall, 9-3/8 inches wide, and is 1-1/8 thick. It is in very good pre-owned condition with some expected scuffs on the cover. The interior pages are clean and crisp without any tears, folds, stains, etc.
Ron Galella, for whom the term Paparazzi was originally coined, is probably most famous for his photographs of Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis, and most infamous for being punched in the face by Marlon Brando and successfully suing him, winning a small cash settlement, and wearing a football helmet when following Brando. The photos in this book show Andy Warhol with a number of celebrities, including Sylvester Stallone, Mikail Barishnikov, Truman Capote, Jean-Michel Basquiat, a street artist whom Warhol discovered.
In most of the photos, Warhol also has a camera. The commentary Galella provides is also interesting.
Winning bidder will receive the actual item pictured. Please review the photos for a complete description.
